Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Johnstown Heights Behavioral Health offers adolescent outpatient care at our center in Johnstown, Colorado.
The Johnstown Heights’ Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), is tailored to address the diverse mental and behavioral health challenges many adolescents and teens (ages 13-17) may encounter in today’s world. These concerns can include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, suicidal thoughts and ideas, and other mental health conditions.
Our program welcomes adolescents at various stages of their treatment and mental health journey, whether they join us directly from the initial assessment and referral or are transitioning from an inpatient or residential setting. With a strong emphasis on structure and support, our Intensive Outpatient Program provides individuals with a nurturing environment to cultivate adaptive coping skills essential for personal growth and well-being.

What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
Sometimes called “Part-Time Treatment,” an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a therapeutic, structured environment a few days a week while allowing individuals to maintain school and life balance.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides further stabilization in a therapeutic environment for clients who do not require the structure of a full-day program like a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or inpatient care. Involving families or caregivers is an important part of our program.
Who would best benefit from this IOP?
Our IOP is ideally best for those seeking further stabilization in a therapeutic environment that is more intensive than traditional individual outpatient therapy. while continuing with school commitments. Adolescents enrolled in the program can gain extra support in their daily lives by working on their mental health issues.
What is a typical schedule for IOP?
Adolescents attend sessions three times a week for three hours a session, outside of school and can return home in the evening. And, because the program is only three days a week, it allows individuals to engage in school, activities, work outside of therapy. Our program runs Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.
