Inpatient Psychiatric Care

Johnstown Heights offers inpatient care at our center in Johnstown, Colorado.

Our inpatient psychiatric program is designed to effectively treat adults who are suffering from acute behavioral health symptoms. These oftentimes can include a crisis situation requiring short-term inpatient hospitalization in a structured program. We provide assessment, diagnosis, and rapid stabilization of acute psychiatric issues with referrals to less intensive levels of follow-up care and support. Our goal is to help our clients improve their clinical status, regain their quality of life, and return to daily activities in their homes, workplaces, and in their communities.

What is an Inpatient Psychiatric Program?

Inpatient psychiatric care, also known as inpatient mental health treatment or psychiatric hospitalization, refers to the specialized care provided to individuals with severe mental health issues who require intensive monitoring, treatment, and support within a hospital setting.

Inpatient care provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crises, such as severe depression, psychosis, suicidal ideation, or manic episodes. The goal is to stabilize the patient’s condition, alleviate distressing symptoms, and prevent harm to themselves or others.

In addition to addressing mental health symptoms, inpatient psychiatric care also addresses any co-occurring medical conditions or substance abuse issues that may exacerbate psychiatric symptoms. Medical professionals closely monitor medication effectiveness and manage any side effects.

Patients receive round-the-clock monitoring and support from trained mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and social workers. This continuous supervision ensures safety and timely intervention in case of crises.
