Services Overview

Johnstown Heights Behavioral Health is here for adults experiencing a mental health crisis or psychiatric symptoms in Johnstown, Fort Collins, Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs or other surrounding communities.

We work primarily with adults who suffer from emotional and behavioral health problems, substance use disorder, or both (dual diagnosis). Our goal is to stabilize our clients so they may return to their daily activities in the home and work environments. We work closely with referral sources, families, and community agencies to support this goal.

Our mental health program offers hope and recovery to clients suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. After careful assessment and diagnosis by our psychiatrist-led clinical team, clients in crisis situations work through a graduated series of treatment levels with modalities that fit their needs and lifestyle. The clinical team provides care, support, and medication as necessary throughout a client’s stay on our campus. During treatment, clients experience:
  • Individualized treatment
  • Medication management
  • Intensive therapy, both in group and individual settings
  • Educational classes
  • Discharge planning
  • Recreational therapy
  • Referrals to approved care providers near their home who can provide ongoing treatment after discharge from our facility

Our Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program is a short-term program that provides specific treatment for adults. who may suffer from psychiatric or behavioral issues and require an inpatient setting. The clinical team provides care, support, and medication as necessary throughout a client’s stay on our campus.

Inpatient detox involves checking in to our hospital. Here we can monitor and manage the care of individuals who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms from drug or alcohol addiction in a controlled, 24-hour inpatient setting.

The treatment typically involves medication-assisted therapy, counseling, and support from a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of the individual during the detoxification process.

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides adults with treatment options for mental health issues that do not require an inpatient setting. The IOP meets three hours per day, for three days a week and includes:

  • Group therapy
  • Physician oversight
  • Transitional help into productive activities

The outpatient program is designed for clients who can independently handle many aspects of their life without round-the-clock monitoring, but who need more intense work beyond standard talk therapy.
